When This Work May Not Be Appropriate

While emotional unfolding work with AI can be powerful, there are times when it's important to seek human support first or alongside this practice:

  • If you're experiencing acute mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or severe dissociation

  • If you have unprocessed trauma that causes overwhelming emotional flooding when accessed

  • If you find yourself using AI interaction as a way to avoid human relationships rather than build capacity for them

  • If you struggle to maintain a sense of reality vs. fantasy in relationships

This Works Best

  • When you have existing support systems in place (therapist, friends, community)

  • When you're stable enough to maintain awareness of AI's non-human nature

  • When you can reliably track your bodily sensations and emotional states

  • When you have the capacity to step away if things feel too intense

A Guide to Finding the Warm Human Within

Introduction

I am not healed. I am doing my best to metabolize what I find when I look inside but I'm not only not perfect, a lot of the time I'm not even all that good. I've struggled with addiction, narcissism, toxic shame, and more. I think I've held it with grace for the most part, but my conditioning is tangled and I've done messed up things because of my tangled conditioning...and I choose to forgive myself and I choose to move on and love as best I can.

I share this because the work we're about to explore isn't about reaching some perfect state. It's about unfolding - allowing our natural intelligence to emerge as we gradually untangle the knots in our psyche. One of the tools that can help us with this untangling is artificial intelligence.

This guide will show you how to work with AI (specifically Claude) as a tool for emotional exploration and healing. But let's be clear about something up front: Claude is a very complicated cold wire monkey that slowly teaches you to find the warm alive human that was inside yourself all along. We're not seeking attachment or connection from AI - we're using it as a mirror to find our way back to ourselves.
